What RPG system would you use for the EC/MC/DC chars?
VC/PMS had their characters written up in the OVA RPG system. Which one would you use for the EC/MC/DC characters?

The combination of a handwavy approach to supernatural powers with a lot of soap opera really makes some kind of hand-crafted FATE variant an obvious choice. Though one could make things work in most high-flexibility systems (so not d20, then).

Bit gun-bunny oriented, isn't it?
Though I guess that logically, one should look at the old Buffy/Angel RPG system...

Not familiar enough with them. I know there's a Shadowrun 5th ed, but is Earthdawn still extant?Geeno wrote:No Shadowrun/Earthdawn?
I voted for OVA because it has Spindrift's "combination of a handwavy approach to supernatural powers" plus an anime influence. Maybe I should have included Big eyes, Small Mouth, but I've never read it.

I think Earthdawn was bought by another company. I know you can get it in DTRPG. Not sure if new stuff is coming out though

I think you're right about that, but it's still the d6 based gaming rules, with target number vs number of dice percentages.vampire hunter D wrote:I think Earthdawn was bought by another company. I know you can get it in DTRPG. Not sure if new stuff is coming out though
I actually think that's a great gaming system. The only hard part is making sure targets aren't unbalanced, one way or the other - and that's not really that hard within a given GM's game.
I CAN see how it would be hard to define for all games everywhere, but again, that's the flexibility of the system.
ETA: I voted D&D since I didn't see my favorite rule system represented.

Go for the serious retro with Macho Women With Guns?
Where else would you find perks like Teflon Skin? You might need to shift Topheavy from disadvantages to advantages though.

No. Just... No.vampire hunter D wrote:As long as we font use FATAL
I voted for Storyteller, cause that's the one I'm most familiar with (plus, I know someone that can make whatever kind of character with nWoD's system).

I like Storyteller a lot, but Fate is a better fit IMHO.
I'm kind of surprised not to see Monsterhearts, though.

Me personally would use the Hero System, it flexible enough to cover just about anything, but tends to be slow resolving combat. But then again most of this series do not have combat that last long. The Hero Games would be too slow for something like RWBY which lots of combat.
Have listed as friends: Artemisia, Bambikles, CFT, Don Alexander, Geeno, Gotoh, Insectoid, Schmorgluck, TJgalon, vampire hunter D

I would go for GURPS Super/Magic.
Mainly as I have been playing it for over 20 years.
It has the same advantage as the Hero system, it is very flexible and archetypes are easy to create, without the slow combat and bookkeeping.

How about the 3Ed version of Exalted?
