Well according to the kickstarter since it passed $77,000 we are getting a 10 page Mel story that is about her coming to terms with who she is now (witch/magical girl) after these events IIRC. Now the question is when will this story come out.

Unless the Charybdis principal wants them to (remember, thanks to a memory spell the principal had cast upon them prior to the transfer, the girls have no idea they're spying on the enemy; they think they're there due to the orb incident).

Its almost worse to me to basically do a reset on a story when the story is ending. I've never forgiven the Men in Black animated series for the way they did their finale when I was a kid (have this epic multi part finale with humans and aliens working together to save the planet then have it all undone by erasing everyone's memories because for some unexplained reason the MIB can't exist in any capacity if the world knows about aliens).

Maybe whatever spell the principal cast causes them to forget and can compel them to answer her no matter how powerful they get or maybe Cerise and Melissa are at such a level now it has no effect and the only person who would report back to her is Jacqui. However, if it is the former it is strange that she never did anything when Cerise took over the rival school she was supposed to be observing. That leads me to suspect the principal of Charybdis is probably not as powerful and competent as originally believed. She seemingly did nothing when Queen Lamia was resurrected. Perhaps she underestimated Melissa and her parentage and once she realized who she was and who Anastasia and Dakota were she took an extended sabbatical to another dimension.

Where the Hecate is Hecate though all this? Surely she would have intervened before three/four of her girls cast the big "give Artemis back her power" spell.

It's doubtful that the Charybdis principal knew about Melissa's magical heritage; or the fact that the Artemis Academy was even taken over by Cerise.

The only way she would know is if the trio reported these things to her - and, they're not likely to do that (whether because they're still currently under the memory block or for self preservation when that block is removed during the next report, as, given that Melissa was able to stay mums about the wand, the girls are not forced to reveal things they don't want the CP to know).

A better question might be: "Where was Artemis during all of this?"

She let someone take over her school and fork it over to another deity, yet never made a peep (as far as we know). Hecate said she was gonna be pissed, so what happened to that?

That, and there's stil the matter of Mel's parents being in Hecate's custody.

I hope this isnt a full reset. Too much has happened that I enjoyed even since the camping trip. Mel becoming Student Council President, Faith learning what she ws doing to the other students, Mel developing a friendship with Tandy and Sandy, and Amelia confessing to the MMAA. All that would be lost and I'd prefer to see tose develop more.

Maybe at least the Student Council and the MMAA will be spared?

Maybe. It's certainly plausible, given some of what the Greek gods have allowed in mythology, but they're usually unforgiving when it comes to defiling their temples, or any perceived slight against them.

My favorite developments were: the Hellrunes finally being outted as witches ('bout time), seeing the student council's reaction to it, Faith having to face the fact that her popularity wasn't simply due to her natural charm, or her talents, and finally learning more (albeit still not much) about 'fade-out' girl.

The blurb for the $77k reward has me pretty confident this isn't a full reset, seeming to imply that Mel's character development will stand. What it might be, though, is a mind-wipe for the students and teachers. I really hope it isn't - what I like about webcomics is that real, permanent consequences are more than just a phantom invoked for dramatic tension - but frankly, in that specific regard, the *C strips are often disappointing enough that it feels about par for the course.
