Well that is certainly unexpected. Not that I ever could accurately predict what would happen next in any of these strips.

What did Nina even do? Make Layla a bit angry? This whole mind sequence was a complete time waster, she didn't need any help.

Well if she hadn't shown up all the remaining aspects would have just kept hiding, and eventually been caught one by one. Also there wouldn't have been a confrontation at the deepest levels of Layla's psyche. Even if Core Layla had fought back in the end and overcome, it likely would have been too late for Kade... sorry Mr. Boodles.

This Lamia-is-part-of-her thing is going to be interesting as the story progresses. (When/if it returns, that is.)

She triggered Layla's big sister instinct, the one thing that could get Layla in her ver dikinished state to resist further.

And speaking of Big sister instinct, it sems that's what Layla is channeling in how she deals with Lamia now in her head. She seems rather caring towards kids, doesnt she? Makes me wonder how she'll be when she has kids.

Still, unexpected and awesome way to finish this arc. Now, fix Ace before we go.

Well that was anticlimatic... still better then MC's 101 turnarounds though.

I more or less called this but not this way. The two were very similar and thus not incompatible but I kinda expected them to realize it before they went full power struggle still the power struggle is probably something I should've seen coming since they both don't like sharing. No matter what Layla/Lamia was destined to be HBiC but this way she is probably guaranteed to end up being the most powerful HBiC of all the other options.

I figured Lamia would remain a part of her by the time it was over, but it's good to know that Layla will still be herself. Mostly. Also wanted to point out that she has Mr. Skullpin back.

Now all that's left is for Nina to fork Blair over to Tia like they agreed, though I still wanna know why Tia's so fixated on him. That and whether she'll be satisfied with a lifeless doll, or will she lay claim to Ace since "Bessie's" in his body?

As for Nina's jealousy, Layla's turned her mental image of Lamia into a clone of Nina, but probably rarely treated Nina herself with such care and devotion - thinking of her instead as her bratty little sister with a chocolate fixation who refuses to engage in the culinary delights of fresh blood (so in her eyes is somewhat less of a vampire).

So ... Layla is like a mother now?

Another thing to note: to say Blair's supposedly been preparing all this time to stop Lamia, he really didn't do anything except fool around in Ace's body. Tia and Nina basically did his job for him, while Layla resolved the rest on her own.

So what was the point of his character?

It makes all that talk about him and his "group" (who were a no show) sound like a load of bull. But on the off-chance that there was any truth to it (stranger things have happened ), ya have to wonder what they were thinking when they handed such a crucial assignment to someone as unreliable as Blair?

I'm also wondering if we'll ever find out what those visions between Lamia, Ace, and Brooke were about? Or if Lamia was just playing mind games with him? With so much left unanswered, I really hope they'll eventually return to EC/MC.
