Dang it all to heck with triple-dipped fudge. I suppose the writing was on the wall with the schedule slippage, but still... :(

*googles new artist, finds Quiltbag*

Looking at that... doesn't make me feel better about this.

He also picked up where Gisele Lagace left off with Penny & Aggie and currently illustrates Guilded Age. He was also the primary artist behind Fans which is another T Campbell creation like the others so as much as I'm sad to see Cassandra go I know this comic is in capable hands.

Best of luck Cassandra thank you for the previous 200 pages.

This is so sudden... but I wish you the best, Cassandra.
For those curious: my avatar is an artistic rendering of a spaceship I drew for a primitive (by today's standards) multiplayer online game called XPilot. (More about both on my website.)

Bzzz.

Possibly a question more for Dave than for Cassandra herself, but... was it a coincidence that her last two panels of the strip proper featured "thank you" and a walk off into the "sunset"?

Looking at the Guilded Age site... he's listed second after his twin brother John, and only mentioned on the "crew" page under John's entry. Looks like he's only the inker or whatever.

And what I can see of his work isn't awful, it just doesn't look particularly... polished?... from what I can see. A bit awkward.

good luck Cassie, hope you are not out of the artistic picture ;)

about Jason..................

maybe we should not judge him by quiltbag, and maybe he gets a few pointers about the usual style for the EC/DC/MC world, and developing a new style of drawing(for him) that will not feel TOO different from the "Archie/manga" style we are accustomed to

Maybe. Having knocked the colours out of that last QB strip, it does actually look a bit better, especially around the faces and the eyes in particular (which must seem like a really backhanded compliment since there's no separate colourist listed!).

We'll see. Hoping we don't get too many "looking directly at camera" panels, at least.
