I know some of you want the current arc in MC to finally be over with, but I doubt that's Gabby. Otherwise, it'd amount to fairly huge spoiler that (at least) she survived Cerise's murder attempt. So, for now, I agree with FlashD81:

I'm not gonna speculate if that is the Gabby we have seen before. I'll wait for the next update.

You know, I dismissed it as a name reuse at first, but it *does* look like Mademoiselle Quackers, doesn't it? Is that why this chapter's out-of-sync? MC has carooned - and continues to caroon - way off schedule, so this was originally meant to be Chapter 8 and now they've given up on waiting for Shouri?

I very much doubt that, chapter eight is about hiding the bodies after all.

Also... the dead chicks, they have nothing to do with the current volume of Magick Chicks, it just isn't their story. So if the two were meant to overlap somehow, but were thwarted by delays, now seems about the earliest opportunity to plan for such an event to take place.

Is it just me or is that one of the dead chicks from Magick Chicks I spy before me? The torturess I think.

Could be And I think I'm more excited at the implications of that than I am seeing these 2 again. Seeing as how the time this story takes place is difficult to connect with the timelines of the other plots in the Erie Cuties and Magic Chicks universe this could take place shortly before Cerise's coup or later. I don't consider it a spoiler if it's the latter since good always wins in these stories it's just a matter of how.

Well, presuming this isn't taking place before they were sacrificed to the volcano god (not that we have any way of telling how the various comics' timelines line up of course)... my first thought was that there may be a reason Naomi brought up 'heaven and hell nonsense' earlier beyond the obvious. By which I suggest that a certain someone slipped back from the afterlife and her mutterings on the subject have displeased the nice alien fetishist.

given that chloe has engaged in a certain degree of time-travel as a result of moving back and forth between earth & hell, there's really no way of knowing when this is in relation to the other comics.

I'm actually kind of hoping it is the same Gabby (which seems likely) and that this occurs after she gets back from the volcano, because I just want to see that story move on now. We've gone too long with no Jacqui, Faith or Tiff.

Would also be interesting if some of the Magick Chick girls joined Teddy's harem.

Gabrielle does not look well perhaps the whammy on the 6 took it toll. After all MC is like 4 months behind schedule and Dave writes stuff like 2-3 years ahead of schedule ... I be guessing that we find out more here then MC (sorta sad really)?

Maybe this Gabby is a fake. Cerise is arrogant, but the sudden disappearance of 9 students whose parents could be potentially more powerful would be too risky, but if she replaced them with magical clones then none would be the wiser except our plucky detective who probably thinks Gabby is a pod person. And this doesn't interfere with the timeline over at Magic Chicks.

That'd be one way to explain why the parents of the missing students haven't been asking questions. But Cerise would have to know each of them well enough to copy their personalities as well, to keep from arousing anyone's suspicion.

On the other hand, depending on how well Naomi knows Gabby (assuming it's actually the same one from MC), if she notices anything off about her behavior, it'd probably convince her that it's the work of aliens again. I can go along with that idea.

i'm kinda wondering now though: if naomi is indeed gabby's sister, why does naomi display no apparent knowledge about the supernatural. because even if naomi doesn't believe in monsters as such, she should at least be aware that her sister goes to school with psychics, magicians, etc.

unnless artemis academy is running some sort of 'prof. X's school for the gifted' con on the families of some of its students.

What is she wearing, anyway? I mean in the most literal sense, what is that thing?

My first thought was "she's alive? I mean, obviously she's alive, but no buildup, just Naomi looks over and she's sitting there?" But then I remembered it's not that long in-story since we saw Jacqui, so this could well be before the whole mess started. Still, it's a bit of a rogue element where the timeline is concerned, isn't it? Especially since we know it's been "months" on Earth since Chloe left.

Then there's the question of who she is to Naomi exactly. She looks nothing like them, and she's Francophone, so I doubt she's her sister - but I hardly think Naomi invited her. Her cousin? Just someone they took in? (I don't suppose they live near any volcanoes, do they?) That's clearly Gabby, though, or a girl called Gabby who looks just like Gabby - I think those who think that's a red herring are kidding themselves.

Which raises the question of why she was so dismissive of "Heaven-and-Hell nonsense." I can think of a couple possible answers, but I expect we'll get at least a hint in this storyline, too much to speculate. (Although the way she says "ugh - Gabby" almost makes me think that she might just not want more "Heaven-and-Hell nonsense." But that might be a bit of a cop-out.)
