"Free will" is basically a nice lie we tell ourselves at the best of times. When you've got a manipulative vampire queen with centuries of experience in controlling people through their desires, and an inexperienced teenager whose hormones are still kicking in and who's just beginning to explore her complex sexuality - well, Brooke is holding out remarkably well, really.

Getting laid is not being brainwash, say what you will all Layla is doing is dangling the ... well carrot would be a bad example but you get the idea. When a person you had a crush on, suddenly shows interest and willing to ... um ... walk through the tulips with you; you would be amaze at what you would agree too. Especially when you are a 15 year old.

And she hasn't even agreed to anything yet, if I may repeat myself. At the moment she's only daydreaming about what she just heard from Lamia's lips.

Actually, I thought this made it seem less enthralled and more her showing her terrible side.

If you honestly think that's all Laymia's done, let me remind you:

Blair told Ace what Laymia was doing to her as it was happening. Also note Laymia hadn't promised her anything yet. Instead, we saw Laymia make Brooke beg her to drink her blood, which Brooke wouldn't have done under normal circumstances. But thanks to Chloe, we know all vampires need is one sample of the victim's blood to put them under their control (i.e. "Big talk! But you couldn't hypnotize me before you had a taste could you?"). And we know Layla had a taste of Brooke's blood long before then.

Lamia is an older, far more experienced vampire. The form of enthrallment she's using seems to be subtle compared to Layla's, whose is subtle compared to Nina's, which isn't subtle at all 'cuz she didn't know what she was doing. I'm willing to bet Lamia doesn't even need to do the "look into me eyes" routine afterward. All she needs is a sample and knowledge of what the victim's wants.

I'm still not sure what she plans on doing to Kade. Layla says she wants to use Kade as a vessel for Mr. Boodle's soul, implying that she'll have Kade's body and Mr. Boodle's soul, but the way Brooke phrases it, it sounds morel like she wants to turn Kade into a cat.

I'd go with what Layla said. Brooke's rationalising in direct contradiction of the facts, which are that Layla has said - more than once - that she essentially wants to do to Kade with Boodles what Nina's bite [inadvertently] did to her by completing Lamia's soul within her.

Given all Mr.Boodles seemed to do was horribly kill people I hope bringing his soul back fails or those stories end up being exaggerations/lies.

I like Ace's/Blair's implied facepalm in the fourth panel.

And Brooke has a weaker will than I thought.
