She CAN change the size of her horns, when she remembers doing it. It's just that, when she met Teddy, she forgot to change her horns.

What just happened here?!?
I'll bet Pandora has something to do with this...
For those curious: my avatar is an artistic rendering of a spaceship I drew for a primitive (by today's standards) multiplayer online game called XPilot. (More about both on my website.)

Good grief, nobody has speculated "dream sequence" yet. What's up with people here, missing the clunkingly obvious (and therefore 40% likely to be correct) guess?
(And if anyone is going to speculate about characters dying and returning to life, shouldn't they have invoked Dave Davenport or Shelley Winters by now?)

She can't change the size of her horns, that was the point. If she could, she would have.Tako wrote:She CAN change the size of her horns, when she remembers doing it. It's just that, when she met Teddy, she forgot to change her horns.

My guess is, the next page is she wakes up, having this as a dream, and the chapter has something to do with her feeling over sexual, while trying to avoid Teddy, due to the pact between them to be blame.

Re: Dangerously Chloe 07-07-14 Chapter 8-Chloe Kills Teddy
The whole contract made no sense in the first place. All that damned (heh) statue said was: "State your wish!" There was no "the price is your soul". Because what, his blood got on the statue? He never actually traded his soul, so on what grounds hell could claim it? He had no intent to sell it. If he actually willingly and knowingly accepted payment for it, that would've explicitly implied he consented to trade, but it would make no sense for Teddy to kill himself like that. If he was somehow hypnotised to screw Chloe, it wouldn't be same thing as if he accepted willingly. By that reasoning, why demons aren't just stabbing random people on street with cursed swords, and they'll be just as much consenting? Or sold cursed books that'll steal souls of those who accidentally paper-cutted themselves: "Mortal, you've made a blood pact with demon lord of this cooking book! State your wish!"

Welp. That's that.
Although if this were taken dead serious (no pun intended) and Teddy's dead, there's still lots of hijinks possible as Chloe tries to act innocent around the household and keep up the increasingly more difficult lie that Teddy is alive and well.
Abigail: "How is my brother doing?"
Chloe: "He's fine, he's fine. He's definitely not dead."
Abigail: "I meant is he awake?"

I really hope this isn't a dream, only because that would be so cheap.
But if it isn't, then this would be the only chapter opening yet that would really require a flashback... I mean, the twin Abigails were explained much more quickly than this could be.

Yeah, there's a lot to that contract that even a half-assed lawer, or even Abby, could blow holes in.Mackus wrote:The whole contract made no sense in the first place. Pointless arguing is one of the three pillars upon which the Internet is built. The other two are of course cat pictures and porn.

Eldritch Abominations don't, but demons tend to be rule-bound.

Re: Dangerously Chloe 07-07-14 Chapter 8-Chloe Kills Teddy
Yeah - it's a pretty standard trope that demons are rules lawyers who have to precisely obey the letter of a wish/deal/contract, but take great pleasure in utterly ignoring the spirit of it - you sell your soul to save someone from dying of cancer, only for them to die of a heart attack. Or you wish for immortality, but oops you never mentioned "eternal youth" or "invulnerability". And so on.
[And that's not the thing I'm surprised no-one's said yet, but I'm not going to go there.]
Well, the previous chapter titles haven't tended to be oblique - about the closest to that was "The Devil Inside" (Teddy transformed by an injection of Chloe's demon blood). And, hell, if there's one Pixie Trix strip that can start off a chapter with someone being killed and the rest of it being to figure out a way to undo it, it's this one where characters can pop back and forth to hell (also, heaven). If it was Ma3 doing a strip on a similar gag with Didi and Zii, 95% of the posters would be screaming "dream sequence" (and the rest saying they were acting/roleplaying/etc).Spidrift wrote:Good grief, nobody has speculated "dream sequence" yet. I think this may be a case of "read the small print". The contract terms were probably clearly spelled out on the statue base in Ancient Sumatran, and if you're not prepared to go to the trouble of reading it that's your own lookout.Mackus wrote:The whole contract made no sense in the first place.
