Finding out that Dakota fell for something as mundane as a double-sided coin is my favorite part of this strip.

She claims she was girly, but I would think it was the kind of situation where you expect Anastasia to use something diabolical and never expect something simple.

Re: Magick Chicks 01-04-14 Custody battles
does this mark the first time we've seen her eyes behind her glasses? (while she's been like this in the present?). it contributes greatly to her losing her composure

I get why they did it, but I still think that having two moms in this day and age would not have been that weird.

It's probably not the only obvious thing Dakota failed to notice.

These days, not that wierd (unless your in a town with 6 churches and didn't get a stoplight until '95), 16 years ago was another story.Chaos Sepher wrote:I get why they did it, but I still think that having two moms in this day and age would not have been that weird.

Ok, so that was a pretty mundane reason, but it fits. Well that's the biggest question I actually cared about. I guess we can finally start segueing back to the main conflict after a few strips.

I'm shocked by her duplicity.

Wow, I did wonder how she came to be more harden when used to be more girly, in her flash back.

I'm Thinking back over Dakotah's various appearances in the strip and her actions.
Y'know she really isn't the brightest bulb on the Xmas tree.

More I learn of Anastasia the more I like her, not because she is a class A super villainess, because her love of Shenanigans, LOL like double headed coin. Yet Dakota did not take the last name of Hellrune, so begs to know just for the fun of it what Dakota's last name is.
As to Dakota's remark "I was girly, dammit!", I say "Girly you shall be again,... dammit!" LOL seriously with the mini skullduggery skull now crushed, she has little reason to maintain illusion of fatherhood any more. Seems that the skull only changed the perception of gender, not what was worn. So it would have been awkward for Dakota to be a man with a dress on (perhaps the skull would have changed it so a dress would have been a kilt?).

But Dakota spends a lot of time away, doing grave-robber *ahem* archologist-adventurer stuff...she doesn't need to act manly at all times. She could be a femenine woman during her trips across the globe...she shouldn't have forgotten how to act girly...she should be able to do so whenever she wished.

Again, though, it would have made Mel and her friends curious about the exact circumstances of her birth, poking around exactly where they shouldn't.Chaos Sepher wrote:I get why they did it, but I still think that having two moms in this day and age would not have been that weird.
