So Mel literally has two mommies. Nice.

A shame. I was sure some nice guy would appear and interrupt her suicide attempt, fall in love with her and become her babydaddy.

From a more "mystical/prophecy perspective", Mel is literally "a child born not of man".
That's gotta carry a lot of mojo with it.

I do so relish these times of peril.

I wonder if Anakota lost her magical powers as a result of the fusion. She had to have some magical resilience to survive falling to Earth without breaking anything, but if so I would think she'd use her powers for a flashier suicide. Go out with a bang so to speak. I suspect the vain glorious side of Anastasia would prefer it that way, but Dakota probably wanted to avoid any collateral damage.
A lot of Anakota's thoughts and choices can be dismissed by the dementia of having 2 personalities in one body. That's probably why she didn't see any of the other signs. I imagine morning sickness would be a side effect to such a disorienting fusion. It would also explain why someone who wanted to keep a low profile by hiding in a Montreal slum would still be wearing her fused costume too.

So Mel is a magical lesbian spawn. With the difference that her moms didn't loved each other, didn't wanted a child and had to merge together to somehow form a baby inside their new body while two souls were catfighting in it. Yeeeeaaaah, I can see why they kept that part quiet to her all this time. XD

It could be why Hekate chose Melissa to lead the coven. A child born of two magical females would be the rarest of finds and there could be more to it than that. Hekate may cross dimensions and know of Queen Obscuria who would be someone a diva god could admire more than a good witch like Musical Starlight. Without the wand Melissa is likely to have been influenced by Hekate and Anastasia over Dakota which might be why she considers it an abomination.sylentknight wrote:From a more "mystical/prophecy perspective", Mel is literally "a child born not of man".

Cass does a pretty good job making Dakotasia look like both her respective parts. It's like one of those optical illusion pictures: You look at her one way, it's Ana; you look at her another way, it's Dakota.
Good Lord. I'm shocked that all my years of shooting people in bunny outfits has in no way prepared me for this.

This has my vote. ^^ It's much more magical and interesting than 'one of the two constituents got knocked up before they merged'.'J' wrote:depending on how the merging worked on a biological level, it seems reasonable to think that if one or both girls were ovulating at the time, then gestalt-girl might have ended up carrying an egg that contained an X chromosome from each of them. in which case, said egg would immediately begin fusion, followed by mitosis, followed eventually by our girl mel.
Seconded! ^^Bambikles wrote:I'd just like to congratulate Cassandra for her art. She managed to make Queen Starlight look like both Dakota and Anastasia without looking more like one of the two. In the same time Queen Starlight doesn't look like Melissa, even if there is some familiarity. It was a hard feat and it's greatly done.

Catholics (I'm a former one) would go insane if you associate this with the Holy Trinity. Imagine that the same way Mel, Dakota and Anastasia are one and the same actually explains such mystery.
Funny how obsession over her looks actually stopped her from commiting suicide, or maybe it was Mel indirectly through the wand's magic.

Eh, that would have been rather boring compared to this. It would also beg the question of why he isn't around now.Tako wrote:A shame. I was sure some nice guy would appear and interrupt her suicide attempt, fall in love with her and become her babydaddy.
This is much less complicated.

i thought of that, but i'm pretty sure that a fertilized egg will begin cell division even when outside the womb. as such, if every egg were fertilized, well, that would probably be fairly bad for gestalt-girlZorlond wrote:This seems the most likely case to me as well. Although, I took it a notch further and considered the possibility that all the immature eggs in their ovaries were combined with their counterparts. Thus, the very first ovulation resulted in a viable fertilized egg...'J' wrote:depending on how the merging worked on a biological level, it seems reasonable to think that if one or both girls were ovulating at the time, then gestalt-girl might have ended up carrying an egg that contained an X chromosome from each of them. in which case, said egg would immediately begin fusion, followed by mitosis, followed eventually by our girl mel.
And would have kept happening every ovulation if they'd stayed together.
Yet still, I live...
