...since no one else has commented on it: I'm find the idea that Sandi can use her power for live video chat pretty handy. So that's at least three different uses of her power, so far.
If she ever learns to combine it with her ability to project multiple screens, she'll be able to hold video conferences from home, or pretty much anywhere. Assuming she can get long-distance with it, that is.

Replace "dutiful and efficient crime-fighter" with "a naive recruit, repeatedly thrown on the way of all-too-conspicuous coincidences without being able to see a rhyme or reason to it", and...CFT wrote: I agree. It seems that we have seen at least 3 different "Dakotas", personality-wise: the naive and childish girl before she even heard of things like magic, the dutiful and efficient crime-fighter, though still a bit more flashy and silly than necessary, and the current-era Lara Croft expy, featuring few-to-none of the (personality) characteristics of her past selves.
...it gets more consistent. Especially if we remember that Dakota accepted the calling without asking much questions and later seemed to delude herself into thinking she's the one in complete control of her life.CFT wrote: And though I admit that I can envision scenarios were a person can go through all these phases (and thus change like that, especially when such extreme, life-changing events were taking place), the fact that by necessity we're getting the abridged version of events, only seeing brief flashes of Dakota's life, makes her appear quite inconsistent
She was suddenly given a ludicrous amount of power she could neither handle nor even comprehend, nor know what to do with, with a bonus of oh-so-helpful guidance, and told that she was ready for it long ago, just needed a chance. Then led to believe she deserves it and can handle it. Then was deprived of it and began to search for other artifacts, that don't not belong to her earlier "benefactor".
After this back story? It should be no surprise at all that in the end we see her "knowing better" and swinging that skull left and right, jumping on the orders of a cat and over them, confident that she can off Anastasia and somehow make it okay for Melissa - one way or another.

How do you know? Anastasia was a novice magic user in this world and in the Shadow Kingdom. I'm not certain if she is a witch or had witch ancestry since the school she went to doesn't look like Charybydis, but regardless she could still use magic in the Shadow Kingdom. Faith got a lot of boost from Artemis Academy, but that mostly affected her charismatic abilities. She's still an exceptional fighter and Esper in her own right as are the others that might be trapped with her. They could still be powerful in the Shadow Kingdom if not more so. If you are right then Jacqui would be the most powerful of the group since she's a witch and that would certainly be an interesting dynamic with them having to put their trust in someone they have been trained to fight. However, none of that has been proven yet.TBeholder wrote:It's not out of Tiffany's ears that the steam comes now.Musical Starlight was but a figurehead with enough of magical ability to be used as a carrier for an overpowered artifact. Now, it's likely that Faith and Tiffany also received a (presumably divine) power-up, but they will be cut off it.

I for one would like to see Faith and rest of the girls NEEDING Jacqui's help to survive being banished to Tartarus or Shadow Kingdom (which ever it is), so that new found respect for Jacqui is acquired by rest of the girls so that upon returning back to the real world they not just cut off her head (not that Tiffany would allow that ... she very kind hearted ... even if trained to be a vampire hunter). And as stated before by me it be nice to have a Chloe crossover in how they get back.

Re: Magick Chicks 12-03-14 When things got weird
@Cranium: There hasn't been any mention of six strange girls dropping in unexpectedly at Tartarus. So I wouldn't expect Chloe to get involved. And, if they're in the Shadow Kingdom, Jacqui's likely to be just as stumped as the rest of them, since it's certain to be her first time being there too.
That isn't to say she won't be able to help the student council somehow, but I doubt she'll be the one getting them back. For now, at least, I think Cerise'll probably have to be the one to do it, since she's the only one who knows where they are and is likely the only one (excluding Hecate and Anastasia) that can reverse the spell that brought them there.

Well I for one will remain Optimistic that the story of the missing girls is resolved by someone other then Anastasia, Cerise, Melissa or Hecate bring them back, that would be rather dull. It be far more exciting to have a story drawn and told that has Jacqui and girls escape on there own wherever it is that Cerise sent them to (find a gate back home, help for Chloe) .
And where does Cerise summon her critters from anyways? Tartarus, Shadow Kingdom or another realm altogether?

Why a bonus chapter? That could be a few real chapters worth of material.

they certainly could, but unless it ties back into what's going on at the academy or with mel, that would be a lot of screen time to dedicate to a side-story.

Why not, indeed? Except this would be three now, so probably not sooner than Melissa sorts out her crazy relatives and "friends".
So it's more - she got a lot of tricks, but what of it, especially if she can't use them efficiently?
So far we have seen what, 3 cases of spells with external power source instantly shutting down? One of them on containment. I'd be surprised if their power-up worked between the worlds.brasca wrote:How do you know?
She got some showy basic training, obviously, and complements it with a few useful abilities like flash-step, but we didn't see anything more than that. When she's really scared, it's down to telekinesis. Her main asset is telepathy, but to use it on someone who would rather kill her or disengage like Layla, she needs to pin them down with telekinesis. And do it one at a time. I doubt her mind-to-mind stun and plant suggestions game would work well on something that simply wants to eat her, here or there - much like her face-touch charm only made her more appetizing for Layla. And that was backed with power-up. The main value of which is to automatically half-charm everything with breath before it decides to approach her.brasca wrote: Faith got a lot of boost from Artemis Academy, but that mostly affected her charismatic abilities. They are but a bunch of arrogant wannabe executioners. Too. That is, never acted as if they expect their little funny pastime to ever get actually dangerous. And oops, now it is. The only exception is Tiffany. They got a few tricks up their sleeves, yes, but against something tough that doesn't just stand there and let them kill it, will they do much better than Faith trying to use Layla as a punching bag?..brasca wrote: as are the others that might be trapped with her. She will be happy that they decided be so generous as not to kill her. I'd expect her to simply vanish when they stand and blink, then subtly protect Tiffany alone with illusions. If not Paul.brasca wrote: If you are right then Jacqui would be the most powerful of the group since she's a witch and that would certainly be an interesting dynamic with them having to put their trust in someone they have been trained to fight.
How much did they heed her that time?..Cranium wrote: so that new found respect for Jacqui is acquired by rest of the girls so that upon returning back to the real world they not just cut off her head (not that Tiffany would allow that
It sufficiently lacks synchronization, but this seems to be the personal headache of Melissa.Cranium wrote: And as stated before by me it be nice to have a Chloe crossover in how they get back.

That is the page I am remembering, Tiffany is moving her knee forward (as in moving) to intercede and palm outstretched forward to potentially block. So it would be good for the rest of the girls to gain respect unless the author is going for the whole "mind wipe" everyone, otherwise a lot of dead witches will no heads on their shoulders (or so it seems to me).
