Ummm...Anastasia is behaving less like a mom and more like a smug villainess...I wonder how much of her old personality was just she being a good actress and how much of her current behaviour is she being pissed and feeling mean right now. 
I think that Mel is going to have to fight her at least once. Anastasia might not wish to harm her, but she may try to take the wand from her.

If I'm Mel, I say "Fine you want to be a smart ass, just stay on the wall then", and then go into questioning. If they whine, I say, "you had your chance, answer the question". She shouldn't put up with it from either of these two at this point.
