Faith was able to resist domination because she's trained to resist mental attacks in general and is stronger in this anyway.

PMS/VC imports *C-verse canon, since Delacroix appeared not only in crossovers - but does it work both ways? In EC there were only 2 pages marked as guest strip.
This runs into the usual, that is Ludicrous Viral Replication problem: Layla drinks blood every day and usually not from a can, so if vampirism was really infectious and they infected others too... On PMS/VC side, a simple bite also does nothing (or Leo would already join the club, and both teams, and...) - Heather was
all covered in bite marks.
As to specifically Tiffany's wide knowledge... three words:
cross shaped mirror.
Faith sort of had a point about infection because, well, in the end it looks like a non-sterile
neck wound. Though apparently this was a false alarm too (see below).
Most likely there's no consequences beyond blood loss, all panic was due to be plain ignorance of AA students. Besides, Maria handles it in a "friendly" way.
In fact, we have good reasons to assume that in normal circumstances vampire bite is
safer than an average IV injection. It
makes sense: if no one notices vampires' feeding, perhaps this simply doesn't leave long-term giveaways?
Bite marks on Tiffany
obviously regenerated on the way home, leaving no trace. Then, Maria is the only vampire we know of (in either 'verse) who ever told her victims to wash necks beforehand.
Yet if neck wounds got all infected and swollen, fast closing or not, someone would notice. And if centuries-old vampires carried everything they caught from people they have bitten, they could depopulate whole cities by dispensing collections ranging from hepatitis back to black plague, with extra updated strains from every time they bite someone infected the next week - provided they are immune themselves, that is. Since they aren't walking extinction events, we can assume something (saliva?) makes a bite antiseptic.
