I think we shouldn't assign this particular euphemism just yet - until an opportunity linking it with the previous one.
Raamyah wrote:You really shouldn't be doing that sort of thing in school. I wonder if Cerise knows? Probably not, but oh, when it all comes out there's going to be some serious ramifications.
It depends. There's at least one clear possibility it will be overshadowed by another problem.
Don Alexander wrote:And indeed, obviously this chapter will contain only two words. :))
Quite possible. :))

Actually, the title of the book makes me lean towards dream sequence again. While AA might not be the best example of responsibly teaching, I seriously doubt a tome of dark magic would be sitting on a readily accessible shelf clearly labeled as such...

I was thinking this was a dream (looks like some time passed in the opening strip, and I didn't think they'd skip over that much considering we've still got Skye's "See you Monday" out there). But seeing April makes me wonder.

Unless it's now known the Professor is banging some mysterious woman in school.

Yeah, you'd think Leandro would've figured out something was up if he headed to the Library asking for April and the librarian said "Who?" Although it's possible Jacqui may have already thought of this and spelled the staff into thinking she's on the faculty. As we've seen, she's surprisingly clever.

As for the dream debate, I first thought it was probably a dream, but am not so sure now. If it is I hope it doesn't go on for too long. Dream sequences tend to get tedious unless they reveal something really important. (See Harry Potter)

COME RIGHT IN, CERISE, IT'S NOT LIKE WE'RE DOING ANYTHING WE MIGHT LIKE TO DO IN RELATIVE PRIVACY

Does not follow. It may be a purposeful test (as a follow-up to the Unfunny Papers aimed at Jacqui-"April", for example) or he can simply keep this clearly labeled book around allthe time to see who will take it. The "dream sequence" part, while also possible, is not necessarily related in any way to whether the book is what its cover says.

Ah, but maybe he doesn't. What we see he does is a kiss and hand on her butt. It's April who wraps around him all the way. This fits with their relationship enough to make the scene ambiguous.
As to "April", at least Mel may know, with Cerise it's far less likely, but not impossible. And if it's a magical dream sent by anyone in the know (such as, for one, "Mr. Delatorrehhhhh" himself) - all bets are off.

Do you think it's impossible that he did find out, and let her see the Unfunny Papers on purpose, to test or steer her? :)

What we learn here is that it doesn't matter to Cerise if she has a room full of people adoring her. If Melissa is getting ANY attention from the students whatsoever she feels threatened by it. It's really quite sad.

I also love how her 'idea light' has gone eco-friendly. :)) B-)
I think the point is not so much that is is eco-friendly but that it's twisted.
Alternatively, low wattage :)

Actually, I thought it was pretty yawn-worthy, myself. I mean, it's just some adolescent wannabe writing a love sonnet to himself in book form. I can guarantee that any number of other adolescents have written things which are much more detestable than anything Bieber has written.

Unrelated; whoever called Cerise as being unwilling to accept Melissa getting even a little bit of popularity was dead on.

Isn't the tome-stealing almost on par with a Tiresias Orb smuggling? Cerise could get kicked out of Artemis and forced to spy on yet another school. Probably a kindergarten.

Even funnier would be if "Forbidden Magicks" is a trashy love novel Leandro checked out from the library for "April."

I do not follow the dream sequence theory anymore. These chibi don't fit in an eerie, dream-like atmosphere.

It's perfectly understandable that Cerise is envious of Melissa's fame. She got popular by defeating Dusky and only started to pursue a romance when she failed to come up with anything else to stay in the headlines. Melissa did what Cerise tried but couldn't.

Forbidden Magick need not be dark magic, it could be anything. "This fireball spell tends to go off in random directions, let's forbid it!" "Magic lightning striking down from the sky? At that power level it will destroy half of the tv sets in town and people will hold the school liable." "Students have again accidentally enchanted their own hair with the magic carpet spell and parents demand that we stop teaching this." "This wide area clothing removal spell is a mayor annoyance and needs to be banned!"

...am I the only one hoping that Jacqui is not the only one using a glamor spell to disguise herself?

I'm betting she cast a spell from the book and everybody gets fleas. :ymdevil:

So maybe this has been asked and answered, but are Cerise and Melissa going to be the only two words people use in this chapter?
