I think we may have spoken out of turn earlier. Chloe doesn't seem to have changed that much merely seems more confidant in herself. I don't really mind that they made her less self conscious and nervous.

I'm not sure how I feel about Chloe now. It's probably to early to say, though.

Chloe being a shy and nervous succubus is what made her character likable to me, the Doompanties incident was a good opportunity to show her developing and gradually overcome her issues. The fact that it has just skipped most of her development (both physically and emotionally) has left me feeling quite confused. What likable traits does Chloe have now?

She seems different and it's rather jarring.

We'll probably learn what happened to her in the next few issues after all she did say that they had a lot to talk about.

I do agree that the fact that she was a shy and self conscious lust demon did put a nice spin on things. While I do agree that it is a shame they skipped over the character development that led her to her current state I think she is still nice which makes it not as bad. It is definitely a good point though that she has lost some of her appeal since her hook was being a shy lust demon. Knowing our authors as we do though I'm sure they will be able to handle that though.

I think Chloe's development is difficult to assess at the moment because we don't know how much time has passed for her in Hell, which may easily be at a different rate to the EC universe time - and we don't know how this time-frame fits in with the others anyway. She's certainly more confident, both in herself and in her sexuality, and from her willingness to strip and, by inference, have sex with a stranger seconds after appearing in from of him suggests she's fully on-board with her life as a succubus. I read her initial appearance as her being off-hand and unemotional about what was going to happen (let's get this over with) but that changed abruptly when he said he would look after her and keep her from harm, which meant he didn't see her simply as an object. I wondered whether something along these lines would happen when she turned towards him in the last panel of the previous strip and appeared to have a plan in mind while he was in panic mode. We don't really need to know how they escaped - the ancient "with one bound he was free" will do nicely - but we seem to have crossed a boundary in the last couple of strips. She's gone from what amounted to a sex-worker to a girlfriend and is moving into a relationship with her latest "client". I'd guess the comedy is going to come in how she fits into a conventional society with its sexual standards when her instincts may well be to use her sexuality to the benefit of her boyfriend.

How do we know she's not shy? She just helped out a nice guy who was trying too help her. And that she's taken a liking to it seems. But that situation forced her to act fast, so didn't have time to think, only react.

That blush in the previous strip says some of her old ,personality is still there. We may see her being a bit more shy when she starts meeting others in this town she's in. Could wind up being Teddy will be the only one she's comfortable with. We'll see.

Actually, afterthought, maybe her shyness is the reason for her almost jaded seeming attitude when she first manifested. That was must how she overcomes her hesitancy, by being straightforward, get it done fast attitude. Just how she mentally prepares herself for her work.
