Phew! well I'm glad that I'm not being boombarded with hate replies, but really that's all I ever see vampires do. Even before the series that shall not be named. Really what I ment was, why don't witches get the whol,e history month thing? Were vampires hunted and murdered in horrific ways such as drowning or hanging or even burning? Were they stoned to death? Were they? No! All they did was get quick painless deaths like beheading or a stab to the heart! That's my two cents on the matter.

If you were to read the actual history on the matter, witches were never hunted. People turned on each other over superstitions, jealousy, and rampant fear - but witches, both ancient and modern varieties of the real deal weren't actually caught for the most part, except on accident if they even were.

Actually, 2 more. Breaking Dawn aka the epitome of rape and pedophilia is the last one chronologically, but there's going to be another book from Edward's point of view in the first movie/book.

............hey, look at it this way: in a before Kristen Stewart starts filming for Breaking Dawn, she's going to be playing a stripper in another movie.

I think she had a dramatic huff and cancelled that one due to the negative response to Breaking Dawn.

So... she'll be wearing a pushup bra when doing her scenes? Or is she going to get augmentation for this other movie? Also, a club would have to be pretty desperate for dancers to hire someone looking like her for their stage... Skin and bones, and nothing to grab... and that's just what I can tell from the publicity photos. (Never shall I sully my mind, nor my eyes, to suffer the live action adaptation of such paltry story telling) The sad thing is, in about another five, to ten years, it'll air on TV anyways.

I blame Anne Rice. She started the trend of emo vampires, and it spread like wildfire.

Before, vampires were more monstrous and less sad.

There were already four books.

Twilight
Eclipse
New Moon
Breaking Dawn

There's already a side story that's been released - can't remember what it's called, and the from Edward's perspective is just book 1 all over again.

And before you ask, I universally panned the books and movie (there was only one at the time) and my sister, the english teacher in training, challenged me to actually read them saying it wasn't fair to bash them without firsthand knowledge.

So, I read them and my estimation of them only changed slightly. The characters are still pretty poor, the writing is still bad, and it's a total emo love fest, but I was surprised to find the mythology intriguing and unique. Vampires have had a myriad number of myths and legends about what they can and can't do based on the time period and the country any one particular myth was coming from. The only things that seem consistent through all of them is longer canine teeth and sucking blood.

After that it's anybody's guess what some made up creature can and can't do.

Actually, the fangs come from real vampiric law. As the body decomposes, the skin tightens and pulls back around the gums and nails etc, giving the apperence of lengthened teeth and claws.
