It's always interesting to see the process behind the creation of some of our most beloved fictional characters.

It's also funny how characters meant to be the leads can disappear during the creation process, and how mains can come out of nowhere. Many a time I read about the creation of different books/movies/comics/whatever, and they talk about characters who were written out because they just didn't work as the property evolved. What often happens is certain traits of those characters end up being parts of the other characters. I'm guessing characteristics of Emilie and Ouida ended up in Layla and Mel, and some of Viv got rolled into Nina, Chloe and Brooke (as I'm guessing Viv was originally designed to be one of Nina's friends).

I'm happy to see the characters as they are today are much less anime-ish than here. :-?

Except for Nina. Nina is eternal, a force, unchiseled by the vagaries of time. :D

She needs no dark counterpart, Arti. She is her own dark counterpart. Her middle name is Majorana. :-B

Maybe bring in Viv as a dark counterpart to Nina?

Do we really need a rival for Nina? She's not like her sister, we don't need to see her feuding

To me the art style of Eerie Cuties is like a mixture of manga and Archie comics art.

Ouida's looks gives me a strong Go Nagai vibe for some reason.

Funny, the yonkoma that come to mind to me when reading EC is AD: Azumanga Daioh :p

Wait... I just realized that wasn't a pentagram Ouida was wearing. That's... odd.

Personally, I prefer triskels and triangles since those have a bit more power mythically, but there are a lot of different ways that the various geometric shapes are used.
