Between the subject, the familiar archetype (including everyone's complete non-reaction), and the fact that she's presumably still stuck in the costume, I'd say this is certainly a dream.

I wonder if she couldn't get the costume off and it just disappeared on it's own.

I certainly hope that this is just a nightmare Hellrune is having.

The costume might disappear on its own once the wand's power runs down... or something. Or maybe it requires a specific trigger, like a phrase, to be deactivated?

Mad theory: Eulice is actually a retired succubus. This explains why she says DiDi Chastel looks like she did in her younger years. She maintains her current form because it allows her to get through her day without having to turn down sexual advances.

At a mere guess... Considering that the underwear looks rather as though it matches Melissa's recent wand-induced vestimentary disaster, I'd venture that she has managed to remove all of said costume but those items, and is unable to put anymore on; considering the position of Jacqui's hand, I'd suggest that she's busy dressing Melissa in everyone else's mind so that they see her as clothed in her uniform, while using the nail buffer to mask the fact that she is inappropriately using magic in class. But beyond that it's a dream, yes.

Mel's report will certainly be the most beautiful one, at least. :-)

Eisengrim, that is a very interesting theory... Hellrune being in her underwear and Jacqui using illusion power to make everyone see her as clothed. It could work.
Except I doubt that Artemis A. has a very great affinity for saving kitties. That's more of a Hellrune nightmare event.

Now that she's physically bonded to the "abomination"? I doubt it.

You know something...I've never understood why people get nightmares about being nude/in their undies in public. My nightmares usually involve cutting off extremities, torture, rape, mutilation, wolves and such.

It's a vulnerability issue. We all construct our personas, and as long as they remain the way we want them, we feel strong and in control. Dreams of public nudity, if I recall correctly, are symbolic for being wholly exposed and losing control. All the masks are gone, all our secrets become exposed, and the mind rebels in shame and fear of ridicule from our peers.

well dreams often draw from what the mind does while it's awake, sometimes taking things to very exaggerated extremes. fear of social embarrassment is something that just about everyone deals with at various times, so it tends to be a common theme. the mind then builds a narrative around that from various bits of life experience. school, nudity & forgetfulness are all common experiences, so they tend to be common with a lot of people and end up in the middle of the bell curve.

on the other hand, the fears that you mention don't play a major roll in most people's lives so they don't show up as often or as vividly for them. in our society at least, most people spend a lot more time worrying about being embarrassed in front of others then they do about their physical well being.

in short, it's less about how bad something is then it is about how much time you spend thinking about it.
