Well, there are a possibility of a few things Tuesday. One, they all wake up in Hekate's clutches and have to find their way out. Two, one of the Heki-zombies grabs the wand and backlash incapacitates or cures her. Three, somebody like Cally, Cerise or Sandi shows up and either bails them out, or at least gives them an opening.

See, cause it's Tiff throwing an explosive everyone is like "it must be a stun-charge or something".

Had Faith thrown one, everyone would be arguing whether it was only meant to messily kill the minions or whether Faith had just recklessly risked blowing up the whole school :p

As much as I dislike her, I would have argued against that. She's fine with killing non-humans, but I think she would draw the line at blithely causing collateral damage among her own species.

Yeah, I'd say Tiff's rash stupidity is more likely to have her kill her fellow students than Faith's contorted rationalizations. Especially since she just told her off for wanting to kill them.

And both will be covered in little sticky bits of Tiff's head. Not all that romantic, wot? :ymsick:

Tiff really should leave work like this to professionals. Like the MMAA. :ymsmug:

Have we reason to think she's fine with killing any nonhumans, or just the ones that are a severe danger to humanity? I mean, Tiff is pretty starry-eyed about exterminating vampires and witches in principle too, she just never gets around to it with the ones who don't act monstrous

And yeah, I feel bad for having taken so long to see that explosion as well. I wager it isn't fatal, otherwise that would raise some uncomfortable questions.

Mog isn't annoying! at least in FFVI, Mog and the other moogles are total bad-asses in it. And I'm pretty sure the MS word paperclip takes the award for most annoying helper :P

and I didn't see the explosion until second reading too : (

Explosion knocks Tiff out, Melissa gets the wand, and Magical Maid Melissa saves the day!
Of course since everyone was unconscious, Mel gets no credit. On the other hand, no one sees Mel in Magic Girl form, so she is at least spared that humiliation. Mel would then know what the wand does. She'd love the power and hate the side effects. Mel's ego will insist that she can bend the wand to her will, and she'll keep trying it - becoming a new MMAA-type in the process.

Or maybe Magic Girl Mel saves the day and retransforms to Mel when done, leaving Mel with an awful headache, no memory, and standing there stark naked in front of the other girls. Yeah, option two seems more like Mel.

And somewhere, another level 9 magical event is noticed.

Both of those senarios are good. I think having Mel remember what happened and have to deal with that has more potential, but....

Also, what Hekate did might well be higher than a level 9 event, so they see another level 9 event 5 or 10 minutes after a level 10? Or maybe her power is intrinsically different and doesn't register at all?? Or all they know is that something burned out the whole system....

There are very few personal problems which can't be solved by a suitable application of high explosives.

Just to be sure, you do know I was talking about Abbot, right?

I think that was understood yes.

And on that note, as I read the character, Faith would probably be ok with killing anyone perceived to be on "the other side". If there are non-human races working on the side the Academy is on, Faith would probably treat them similarly to the humans on her side. Humans with loyalties to the "monster" side would probably face quick extermination though perhaps not quite the "let's experiment on them with mindcontrol" treatment.

Interesting to consider.

While probably seriously indoctrinated, Faith isn't dumb. She can disassociate empathy towards creatures like vampires by dehumanizing them. That's easy because they're not actually humans. But I'd be interested to see Faith react to a monster sympathizing human she doesn't execute on the spot. If she were given enough time to converse with them, something like that could seriously shake her black/white worldview. (Hint hint Tiff...)

Actually I might take back Mog. He's pretty cool when he isn't whining about the chalice being too heavy in the desert, and the desert isn't a fun level anyways...

I think it'll be something like the second scenario, only someone, Mel herself or Tiff and/or Faith will wake IP and see something, will remember. Kinda wouldn't advance the plot if the day was saved and all three are clueless. Still, Mel naked in front of the other two is almost a certainty
Pointless arguing is one of the three pillars upon which the Internet is built. The other two are of course cat pictures and porn.

It's worth noting that, in the one(?) time we've seen Faith actually confront a monster, she didn't execute her on the spot either. She believed (rather reasonably) that Layla was a remorseless murderer intent on making Faith her next victim, and yet she turned down two easy opportunities to stake Layla in that fight. I don't think she was consciously showing mercy there, but I doubt Faith is anywhere near as comfortable with killing humanoid monsters as she wants to be. I'd be surprised if she could actually skewer, say, Brooke or Nina in cold blood.
