I'm with the crowd that's ready for answers. It took a witch, siphoning off the magic in the school, to draw the wand out. Faith and the other girls are supposed to be espers (or so we have been led to believe). Since Faith wasn't able to use it before, I like to think it requires the magically inclined. Then of course the fact that Mel is a witch in a school full of slayers becomes another issue all together.

Yeah, Tiff's not gonna let Mel anywhere near that wand now. She knows Mel's at least a dangerous magical creature, kinda like the ones Artemis Academy trains its students to kill. If she knew Mel was a witch, she'd be even less inclined to give Mel the wand.

Tiff may be friends with a vampire, but it'll take a lot more for her to break life-long training to trust an obvious creature of magic.

Plus, you know, Faith's in mortal peril right now and could use a weapon which could turn the tide without killing students.

Tiff is just VERY lucky that Mel isn't a Pictsie....those buggers are dangerous, and the only ones more dangerous than male Pictsies are the female Pictsies known as the Kelda.

I think she should Mel have the wand. If Hecate is so afraid of it and think about Mel's dream of being the magical maid girl saving poor kitties from trees. Maybe if Mel has the wand she will become that hero.... even if she doesn't want to be. I think that would be really interesting and a cool twist. A bad girl that is forced to be a hero. Like a split personality. I could just see a moment with Mel and her friends in a dangerous situation. "Mel! Use the wand" "NO! I hate it! I don't want to be that goodie goodie maid girl, don't make me." "Mel... we are going to die" "....fine."
I can't wait for the next update. I am part of the unFAITHful so I am all give Melissa the wand.

I think people are forgetting a key point. Namely, Hecate told Melissa to stay where she was. I think there's a fairly good chance that the possessed minions will turn on her as soon as Hecate realizes that she disobeyed her order. The point of destroying the wand and killing the ones who knew about it was to keep Melissa from going apostate, and Melissa coming anyway is going to give that indication.

Just a thought, but if Mel does go apostate and stopped being a witch, would that be it for her friendship with cerise and Jaqui? On that thought, perhaps we're seeing the formation of a new friendship trio here, one of Mel, Tiff and Faith.

I'd never trust Faith with it but that's because I dislike her with a passion. Trusting Faith with the wand to me would be like trusting a dog to protect your dinner.

Our old dog could actually be trusted around food, even home alone for hours at a time, so long as the food was not on the ground (established rule: if it fell on the ground he was allowed to eat it).
