I'll say it again, for the people who don't read the whole thread from the start: Kade energetically snogged the team quarterback, and jocks gossip like old women. He probably bragged about how 'the hot catgirl' was willing to go all the way with him in public, and the rumours snowballed from that point on.

Except for the fact that Nina spotted Kade and brought it to Cess' and Laura's attention. Which is why they ran off leaving Nina in possession of Adora to begin with. No s/he wasn't actually on screen but I don't see Nina thinking of such a ploy as a distraction, nor her even thinking she'd need to do so in the first place. So probably Kade. Probably.

Just like elsewhere in life, there will be boys who allowed their "little head" to take control and snogged (to say the least) with Kade. There will be boys for whom Kade being male or female is not important and snogged away. And their will be boys who, knowing Kade may return to being a boy again, stayed clear of any and all temptation.

Can't help wonder at this one. Why should it? It's not like having had sex makes you immune to gender change. Only reason I can think of would be the rather messy subject of pregnancy, but even then it'd have to be unprotected sex and also a really unlucky roll of the dice. (Kade does seem unusually mindless but if she didn't insist, it's not out of the question the guy(s) in question did. IF it even happened, but the implication is that it did. Even if it was unprotected.. most couples work HARD at getting babies. Poor bastards.).

A more interesting question is... assistant? Assistant for what?

Chloe's plan, clearly, is to do a "magic trick" changing Layla into a boy. This will, of course, go terribly wrong, but how? That's the fun question. It could end up being a kind of hot potato game where everyone ends up back the way they started. That might even make Chloe more popular in spite of her plan failing.

Personally, I'm loving the expressions on Layla today, especially in panel 1.

Yeah, girl or not, it looks like Layla still has some non-platonic feelings for Kitty Kade. Anyway, looks like Chloe's changed back to herself, so she won't get mistaken for the real Layla (unless she changes again to taunt her), and Layla remembers something of her encounter with Faith. The way she just walked out of Abbot's house at the end of their fight made me think she'd forgotten all of it.

Also, does anyone else realize that we are just six updates away from this being the longest chapter in EC's history? The last longest chapter was War Dance at 37 pages (I checked!) and we are at 32 right now! Woo!

Possible, but I don't think so. When Chloe mimicked Layla, there were still a few traces of herself left, but that looks exactly like Kade.

I love the eye-to-eye confrontation between Chloe and Layla in the middle panels! It's that kind of intense nonverbal, non-physical battle of wills that's so compelling in comic form.

At least we know where Kadie-kins' been the entire time. She's probably tied up for two reasons -- to keep her from slipping away with the whole offensive backfield and to deliver some shock value to Layla. Chloe doesn't intend to hurt Kadie-kins, but she's not going to tell Layla that.
